Has anyone heard about this??

A friend told me about a study where a person's neural activity was measured while they were making decisions. Apparently the activity was very low until after the decided action had been completed at which point there was a spike in activity. Is this true? Does anyone know where this study was done, or where I can find more information on it?

  1. PET scan is used to identify changes in the uptake of glucose in the area of the body being scanned, usually the brain.

I'd just Google "brain PET scan decision making".

  2. this is a study that is likely still in progress and may yet to be published. scholar.google.com is a good place to search for articles that have been published or you could find a reference librarian at your college.

  3. I don't know.  Try webMD.com.  You'll find your answer there, however I am certain that neurons are firing as you are thinking and even when you are asleep.
