I'm wondering if anyone has demoed or seen the new irons by Titleist. If so I'd like to hear what you know about them.

  1. The AP1 clubs are being marketed by Titleist as game improvement to a degree while also giving the golfer workability and feel that lower handicapped golfers desire.  I say to a degree, because Titleist is not really known for producing many game improvement clubs in their product line.  Some people who I have talked to say that the AP2 clubs gives more feedback than the AP1, though I have not used either.

  2. Pro at my club is on Titleist staff so we got an early look, they are not due out until the end of March.  The AP1 is a cast steel club with tungsten nickel in the "box" (their word for the cavity), and an elastomer insert to reduce vibration.  The AP2 is the same design, but with forged steel and a more traditional look.  Projected price is about $100 per club so a set will be at the high end price range.

  3. I receive e-mails for Titleist.  I heard about the new irons last month.  There is info on there website.  Mid-March is supposed to be the release date.  I can't wait to demo.......

  4. I demoed the AP1 last week at my local course the Golf Pro had a set , they felt alright , they are definitely more forgiving for a Titleist Club , but the ones I am waiting for will be out in a couple of weeks , The New Z Forged Blades , they are also releasing them in a combo set .
