I am wodnering if anyone has heard of a group called Weed Watchers? They are supposed to help you in keeping your pond sound and safe and keep invasive plants out of it in ways that will not hurt the wildlife. I want to clean out my pond a bit but I don't want to add any bad chemicals and hurt the frogs, fish, otters, turtles, crayfish, etc. Also, I need help in identifying the invasive versus non-invasive species. The reaosn I need to clean it out is that I think I have left it alone for 4 years now and I think it is probably not very healthy now for the animals living in it becaus eit is so filled up with millfoil and such that there is hardly any room for things to swim in it anymore. So, my leavign it natural since I purchased my home may actually be hurting the wildlife now because the small pond is struggling for air I think? Also, it is a natural pond (well due to a dam) and it has water flowing throug it from one srouce of water and flows otu to another source of water. I think the folks who owned this before me did treat it with chemicals.

  2. This is the website for the Florida Exotic Pest Plant Council.  Even if you are far away, the site can help you identify your problem plants and goes over the various control methods.  It also has very good links.
