I've recently started riding on a motorcycle with my boyfriend and am very nervous about falling off the back. He is a great rider and I have no doubts in his ability but I feel very unsafe with only him to hold onto since theres no sissy bar or anything else to hold. The bike is a Kawasaki KZ750 with a very FLAT seat! I would really appriciate hearing if anyone else had/has this problem or if i'm being an overconcerned new rider... thanks!

  1. O yeah i seen people get dumped off the back if you wanna see what it like check this clip out. this guy dumps his girlfriend right on her face.

  2. It happens with new riders. if the rider doesn't shift smoothly and you are not holding on right, the bike can jerk and you go off the back. Wheelies also do it. Otherwise hold on tight.

  3. I sensed that I might not have been able to operate the motorcycle under the influence, so I road passenger instead.  Apparently, you have to be sober for that too.  I survived.

P.S.  Sometimes it can be a good thing to fall off the back!

You are right to be concerned.  I once almost fell off TWICE (one ride).  And I am a rider.  My jerk friend told men he won't race.  I only had my slippers on.  Well my jerk friend starting racing just around the block.

    So it happens.

    Good luck...

  5. Sure, I've heard of it but it's usually due to careless or reckless operation of the bike ( like racing or lifting the front tire up ).  As long as your boyfriend takes it easy, you shouldn't have any worries about falling off.

  6. But if you are hanging on, how are you going to fall off without pulling him off too?  Anyone who falls off isn't hanging on.  It really isn't that complicated, folks.

  7. hopefully he doesnt do wheelies

  8. Yes.  SHe was wearing typical going to the beach clothes, no sturdy shoes or protective equipment. The idiot she was with had to wait while she collected stuff, so he took off in a huff, she lost her grip, the 80 mile an hour air blast finished the job. If you look you can find her story and some VERY DISTURBING photos.  To be fair she doesn't blame the idiot driving, but I DO. and if I were the DA, i'd charge him withe Greivous Bodily Harm.

When she hit the asphalt, unprotected as she was, she wore her ankles and feet down to the bone very quickly, the first instant that she hit and then she tumbled sliding the while way.

She was still awake when she got to the emergency room. and a nurse said something stupid about her condition, and she turned it around and made something good out of it,

she has spread her story far and wide in the rather tight knit community of motorcyclists.

She has had HOURS of PLASTIC SURGERY, they said she might bever walk again, she did not have enough skin at the time of the initial surgery to cover all the things that need it. so they took square inch and took it to the lab to try and grow more skin in a hurry.

She checked out 2 months later, walked out to the car and started her life over. Just in time for thanksgiving...Several more operations were ahead of her, not the least reconstructing her breast, which had been abraded away.

That's all I can stand for now.

May be i'll hunt down the photos and the whole story and why I blame HIM more than her.

She was a PASSENGER under his care, and he OWED her a safe trip. instead he let her get on the back of his motorcycle, completely unprepared for what ANYone would concede is a quite rational possibility, that of having an accident.

Worse, he apparently was the immediate cause of the accident. Worse, as far as I know he nevr visited her while she was in the hospital.  never came and apologized, never said, even some thing like I never meant for this to happen.  Nada, zip, zilch, zippo.

A boy like that doesn't deserve to live.

  9. Next best thing to a divorce..

Hit the brakes then nail it-off she comes no more nagging

Or just be careful and i would get a backrest if he is a little fast
