You pay $450 and become a travel agent. You get 50-60-70% off travel.

  1. Actually, you're not a travel agent at all. You're simply buying into a club and recruiting teams.

Basically, it's a scam.  You reach maximum earning potential by developing three teams. The "First Team" is complete when three representatives have been personally sponsored and six online travel agencies activated. The IMR (marketing reps) earns 50 percent commission from all sales. Once the First Team's requirements have been met, IMRs qualify to advance to the next level, the "Power Team." This team includes the first team of every representative in your Power Team. When one of that Power Team starts a Power Team, that team becomes a first generation "Dream Team" to the original IMR. This building can continue through six generations of Power Teams.

This is a  pyramid marketing plan because of their apparent emphasis on recruiting rather than selling travel. CAUTION:  Those who buy into the company's team become **legally** responsible for the claims they make about their company, its product, and the business opportunities it offers!

  2. YTB is a considered a Multi  level marketing business and not a pyramid. You may take a look at the definition of a pyramid on the federal trade commission website. The one way you can tell if a company is a pyramid is if there is not a viable product for sale to the retail market. As a YTB rep, you are a seller of travel. Your title is referring travel agent and you send people to your website to book their travel. You make 60% commission on everything booked on your site. Many in the company choose to build their own travel team by recruiting other. You can choose to do both or simply sell travel. You may not always get 50% off of your own travel, it just depends on what discounts the vendors have. One thing is for certain, when you book your travel with the other companies, you just get a confirmation notice, as a ytb referring travel agent, you get your confirmation as well as a check for the 60% commission.

YTB will be featured in the Success At Home magazine in Jan 07 which should put some of the rumors of this being a pyramid to rest.
