I was told they have a very good flavor when cooked.Just wondering if anyone has ever tried this and how well does it works.Sounds very convenient and easy.

  1. Is that the same thing as just placing freshly shelled peas in a double bagged paper sack and freeze?  Someone told me I could shelled blackeyed peas, do not wash them, just double bag in brown paper sacks and freeze.  Which I did, I do not know the result yet....this all new to me....hope this info was correct.  Anyway..............I am not sure is this is the same thing you are asking about, if so, I would like some input on freezing in brown paper sacks too.

  2. Haven't herd of that one. I always clean and snap mine then blanch them. 3 minuets boiling then ice water to stop the cooking at least 3 minuets. Then just bag them up and freeze them. I like this way because once i get all that done all I have to do is pull out a mess and put them on to cook they will taste as fresh as the day you pick them.
