  1. The only thing that the government gives is a FHA loan.  There are no grants, government doesn't owe you or should give you money to get a house.  Those emails are a scam.

  2. Nope, sorry no such thing as the government giving you funds for a house.

Are you sure you are not referring to city /county programs for first time home buyers? Some will offer to put a certain amount towards your first home IF your income is below a certain amount and IF you live or work in that city/county before you buy and IF you buy in that city/county. It’s their way of getting more residents so they get more taxes. The money  is “free”  as long as you stay in that city/county. Once you move you must pay it back. And, if you decide to refi you need their permission because they technically have a lien on the property. Yes, one catch after the other, but for some the program works.

  3. No the government does not give out money for such things. If they did they would very soon run out of money as everybody would be asking for it. However, Obama's brand of socialism may test this concept.

  4. 1)  These emails are SPAM.

    2)  All SPAM is garbage.

    3)  The company behind the emails is just trying to sell you a book and/or CD.

Government Grants to pay off bills do not exist.  States sometimes have home buying assistance programs but these are usually in the form of low interest loans.

  5. No, the government doesn't give out grants to buy a house or pay off bills. Those emails are fake. They aren't trustworthy. The only thing that the government gives out is a loan. The government would be broke soon if they gave out grants to buy a house or pay off bills. Obama won't do those things either when he is president, if he becomes a president.
