  1. It's really expensive, and it's not worth the royal price tag, but it should serve it's purpose if you have money to burn.  For me, I would go with a top-shelf home theater system -I don't need a server.

    Happy Home Theatering!

  2. i have not heard of it .

  3. It is a server-based system that stores a gazillion movies and music with no reduced compression (like an ipod for ie to save space on the ipod hard drive). The actual compression for both films and music will give you the highest attainable quality that you might find on, say, a hi-def DVD. I was shown the system once in a high-end stereo store in Manhattan. They had a special home theater demo room that must have cost $100k. The sales guy was showing the various features and conveniences to store and view an enormous amount of titles. The system was priced at $12k. If you have boatloads of cash to squander on expensive toys, and you love movies, then I say go for it. Personally, I have no problem watching movies on  a DVD or on cable TV...and I like decent quality stuff...I usually go for the low-end of the high-end. The Kaleidoscope is def high end and state of the art, but not good value for the average guy that likes and can afford halfway decent toys and equipment. Good luck with your decision.
