  1. The UK National Lottery is a genuine organisation - e-mails purporting to be from them advising you of a large win are not - they are fraudulent and are either attempting to phish for your personal details or will seek to extract an advance fee from you.  You cannot possibly have won anything on th UK Lottery ubless you have bought a ticket.  If you have, you can check the winning numbers on the official UK Lottery site which is http://www.national-lottery.co.uk/player...

  2. I keep getting spam from the Uk National Lottery saying that I have won.  SCAM-O!

  3. There is a UK National Lottery, but there is also an email scam going around purporting to be from this organisation telling people that they have "won" large six and seven figure sums of money.  As with any lottery, you need to buy a ticket to be in with a chance of winning, and if you haven't bought a ticket you can't win.  These firms don't go looking for you.  It is up to winners to claim their prize, and if you don't do it in time, your winnings go to good causes instead.  In short, they won't try and find you, you have to contact them!

  4. The UK Lottery is a scam.....I've recevied at least 10 notification of my winning,,,I followed one through with emails and the end result is they want your account number and bank to xfer funds but they say their lawyers will need you to send then at least 800 pounds for them to complete the transaction and paperwork...

Don't fall for it.....Report it to the Federal Trade Commission at www.ftc.gov/ftc/complaint.htm or call them at 1-877-382-4357.

They will also ask you to download a Power of Attorney so they can act in your' behalf.

DON'T DO ANYTHING THEY ASK IF YOU DO YOUR ACCOUNTS WILL BE WIPED OUT..

I have already forwarded 6 of these scams to the FTC...They have a online complaint form to fill out and they will acknowlege your complaint

  5. If you are referring to the lottery that supposedly Microsoft is giving away money, it is a scam.  Do not reply to any emails you get in regards to this!!!  You need to be a bit more specific about what you are referring to in regards to this to ensure the best answer, but this is my thought.  I worked for Microsoft for awhile and I was asked this question a lot during my chats.  (I did sales chats online while there).

Below is a link that brings you to a forum in regards to it.
