    Descendant befriends WU faculty member

    The Capital-Journal

A Topeka woman who wrote about her visit to the grave of Potawatomi Chief Abram B. Burnett on her Washburn University Web site has received a "bundle" from one of the historical figure's descendants.

Carol Yoho, an adjunct faculty member at Washburn, received a box that contained a hand-carved pipe and an embroidered shawl last week from Gary Sulser Wis-Ki-Ge-Amatyuk, of Norwalk, Calif., a great-great-grandson of Burnett. The bundle also contained a photo of and a letter written by the sender.

"He made it clear it was from his family to the Yoho family," she said.
