Never heard of it,  but here are some family related information..

1930 US census - 8 listings for DROGARIS ; 2 in Stamford CT, 6 in Brooklyn, NY

Social Security Death Index lists 24 people named DROGARIS, most died in the NY/NJ/CT area, but a few are listed as "US Consulate, Athens", and a few in Virginia.

Texas Marriage index (Texas Marriage Collection, 1814-1909 and 1966-2002) shows 10 listings. ( all from 1988-1996)
