Yes, of course.  It should be making landfall tomorrow morning just north of Galveston as barely a Category 1 hurricane.  Take all necessary precautions if you live close to Galveston.  Bring outside furniture inside, put car in garage, bring in flower pots, fill bottles with water, have some cash on hand, fill tank with gas, etc.
