Has anyone heard (recently) of a program to pay for dialysis with bottle caps?

I don't know if it's an updated version of the hoaxes of the past or not. A friend of mine was told to collect them for said reason. Just don't want her family to be wasing their time & space.

There are occasional bottle cap drives for charity, or for the environment (as of now they aren't normally recycled).  Most are organized by schools and charitable organizations.

If your friend has a name, or a place where the caps are going then you can check if it is a legitimate charity and bottle cap drive.  No name, no place, then??????
