Yes, I heard about it, but it's just a myth, probably invented to reduce the fear against spiders... I'd recommend you to smash any of these "messengers", you don't know if it's a poisonous one or not, and anyway, a spider bite isn't too comfy, don't try to take chances as the Spiderman did it...

No. . . .I've heard they bring good fortune. . .and I remember my mother would never kill one, she said they were good luck. . .we had to catch them and put them out side
