actually fish meal has zero nitrogen. It has a high phosphorus content and high calcium and other micronutrient content, but of the major three it only has phosphorus.

  1. Fish oil is a reppeleant against insect pests and not fertilizer. But fish meal ( waste fish) is a manure which has high C:N ratio and has to be mixed with soil to help digest the fish and lower :N ratio so that plants get the nutrients. You can mix fish meal with soil and water in 1:1:10 ratio(fish:soil:water) and add yeast to it and keep for 1 week. Shake well daily for fermentation. Then the solution may be filtered and add 20 times water to dilute and spray on pasture.

  2. the first settlers used fish for fertilizer. Sounds like a screwball idea today.

  3. Fish oil is an excellent fertilizer, but I doubt that it would be cost effective on pasture or hay fields.
