Went last year - it was pretty good. Much better atmosphere than British festivals, helped by the fact that after the bands finished the arena remained open, with DJs, comedians and other performances continuing, and shops etc still open. Shops selling 'herbal' tea and cakes also make things more relaxed ;).

Couple of downsides: be prepared to queue a lot, particularly to get in. If you're traveling by train from Amsterdam, set off sooner rather than later as there are also queues in Lleystad for the shuttle coach and then queues at the festival entrance. Also everything on site is payed for using 'Munchens', little tokens that you get either by buying them or by recycling used plastic cups (which is worth doing for an hour or so to make a bit of cash). Otherwise its pretty great!
