Has anyone here changed their first name?

Question

Did you just start asking people to call you by a different name, or did you legally change it? How did people react to the change?

My first name is incredibly common and I'm thinking about changing it.

why would you change it, your name s your name, you can get a nickname but i wouldnt change mine for anything, make your name known because of you,

have some pride you had to be named what you are for a reason

the best thing if you really wanted is a nickname, and people will adjust to it eventually

I had my name changed legally when I was a baby, by my parents, because they adopted me and everyone called me by a shortened version of my birth name, so they changed it to that.

I'm not sure about the idea of changing your name when you're an adult though. It wont change anything about you or your life. Just make it more difficult for anyone to track you down!!
