  1. You cannot mingle with the passengers, but you can date the crew.   I was working on a cruise ship for 10 years........couldnt have done it if there was a celibate rule, you gotta have something to keep you sane!!!! I worked on Carnival, Norwegian, Princess and RCI. and it was the same rule for all theese lines.

I met my partner on the ships and  now live in Spain .  The cruise lines want to see happy staff and will try to keep you together on the same lines.......

  2. yes you can, as much as you´d like.

    and people do...

now with passengers is a different story... you are not supposed to, but happens, a lot.

I remember walking into a passenger restroom on a ship I worked, it was the men´s room and the ship was deserted since we were at some nice port and everybody was out... and there was a crew member (low officer, crew purser)

having s*x with a girl passenger.

He was fired afterwards, but that time nothing happen.

On another ship, with very old passengers, i remember some old ladies being very forthcoming towards us, staff members.

Way back, when I had to share cabins, thats a long time ago, i remember walking into my cabin (I shared with an English guy) and the restroom was ocuppied...

I went out to the hallway to smoke a cigarette and a passenger came out of my cabin, turns out he was having s*x with my cabin mate in my bathroom...

And that was at a staff´s cabins area.

    Happens all the time.

  3. Your not allowed to mix with passengers.. dont think they can stop you being with a co worker

  4. Most cruise lines won't allow for dating other employees.

I believe all of them won't allow for dating a passenger.

  5. In my company 'dating' (ha, for less than a week) passengers was a huge no-no, but obviously goes on all the time - bit like speeding in your car - you know you shouldnt do it, but it sometimes feels good when you do, but have only yourself to blame if you get caught and punished.

As for dating other crew members, that happens ALOT :) and is sanctioned by the company so long as there is not a conflict of interest - ie, the Chief Officer dating one of the other Deck Officers etc.

The company will also try their hardest to make sure that people from different departments seeing each other get sent to the same ship, although its never guarranteed.

One exception 'might' be Disney Cruises. I've never worked on them but the grape vine tells me they have positivley draconian rules and regulations as to what the crew can do, say, go and look like.....

  6. I think you just can't date other crew members...

I've been on 3 cruises and on all of them the waiters had girls or boys back home or on another ship..they just saw them when not on duty.

Oh and no dating the guests! a big no-no.
