Has anyone here ever worked on a cruise ship?

or do you know anyone that has? if so how was the experience i was thinking about doing this and am trying to weigh in the pros and cons..

I worked for a short period with Royal Carribean.

The pros of course are travel.  Seeing far off places with strange sounding names, and meeting the people of that culture.

The cons are that usually, Americans can't get these jobs anymore.

It's a lot easier to hire people whom live in foreign countries, because they will work for way less.  

Also, you have to put up with a lot of crime.  When travelling to foreign ports, you are a target for muggers and such.
