Has anyone here taken a bob ross course?

Did you learn alot? If you didn't take the course how do you feel about the Bob Ross painting style in general?

Bob Ross was never actually a classically artist, and his style on his popular television show was not a good example of art education.  It was aimed more at the non-painter or marginally gifted who wished to have a result that looked ok.  I would not expect to learn any real art principles or techniques, other than the short-cut methods Ross taught for painting a complete painting simply and quickly.  His course, if it follows with the same format as the show,  might show how to paint "the mountain scene," or "the waterfall" . . . but I doubt that it covers how to compose, plan and execute an original painting, how to mix colors, or how to adapt your own ideas.
