Has anyone here used softpaws on their cats

its a new and humane solution to your cat claws.

Does your cat like it or not.

i agree with catlover, just take the time to train them, if the are scratching in places you dont want them to, then spray a bit of lemon or citrus air freshiner, on that spot or use lemon peel, cats HATE the smell of citrus, I have 7 cats and none are declawed, and I have a beautiful home, it is possible to train cats, it just takes patience

no I never needed to I trained my cats to use the scratch posts around the house.

I had them once on a cat that I owned. They just fall off and aren't very effective. Cats are very intelligent and can be trained to use a scratching post. In fact, most cats PREFER their scratching post to anything else if you get them a good one. It's a lot cheaper to just buy a nice post for the cat instead of having to continuously put soft paws on the cat.

i haven't used soft paws on my kitten (she hates the squirt bottle).

however my boyfriend was having problems with his cat and tried soft paws.  The cat chewed at them for a few hours and eventually bit them off.

tried to but they wont stay still long enough for me to put them on! instead i find it easier, faster and safer to jus trim their nails. i dont take alot off, just the pointed tip of each claw so its blunt. my kittens are 9 months and 3 months old and i dont have a problem with them scratching the furniture.. they only like hooking their claws into the area rug and pulling their bodies all over the shaggy rug lol.

Yes.  It took about an hour to get them all glued on.  It took another hour for my cat to chew each one off.  I've started trimming their claws instead.  It takes less time (and no glue.  glue+fur= messy) and less hassle.  They've adjusted to pedicure time, and they don't get snagged on things like they usd to.  Everyone is happier.
