  1. I have never had that kind of party but I was in the play! WHat a fun party idea. Here are a few ideas:

(Oh and just so you know, it's Mid Summer Night's Dream)

I would have the party at night, first of all (and in the middle of summer...)

It needs to be very ethereal-- I'm thinking garden party with Chinese lanterns and twinkle Christmas lights strung throughout bushes. Maybe you could even have a bubble machine running. Or a fog machine--- just something to get a "dream-like" atmosphere going.

Fairy dust (or glitter) sprinkled over the food table might be neat. Also have a punch fountain in the middle of the food table.

For drinks, serve those fancy glass bottles of sparkling lemonade (it comes in pink lemonade, too), sparkling water (Perrier might be good), champagne--- catch my drift on the sparkling?

For food I envision lots of pretty sliced fruits-- strawberries, blueberries, lots of berries. Maybe you could even have a make-your own parfait or make-your own yogurt station with fruits set out and tall parfait glasses.

I'm kind of at a loss right now for other fairy-like foods, but I think if you had the atmosphere looking that way, then the food would just fall in behind.

Oh and one more thing-- you could make it kinda whimsical with oriental pastel-colored parasols floating in the trees, as well!

    Have so much fun!

  2. We used to go to a Midsummer's Dream Festival every summer, and it was in conjunction with a strawberry festival, so I always associate the 2:) ......Fairyland in the woods is the right setting though - with medieval/renaissance foods.....

  3. No, but check out these sites for themes/decorations, etc.
