  1. Nope can't get them here only cyclones here and major wind surfing.

  2. My name is Jimmy Deguara. I saw a real tornado last year near Dunoon NSW. Check the footage on YouTube

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1SD_OzpQa...

Or try my website    http://www.australiasevereweather.com  and check the tornado section! It was increible - the best ever footage I have ever seen so close - within 100metres of my vehicle. I have seen 39 other tornadoes up until that point but this one is a rare special.

Please understand the different between the tornado which is a localised circulation from storms or clouds as comparied to tropical cyclones which is a mass of wind and rain around a 500km to 100km circulation. These are less intense than tornadoes but last longer and cause more widespread damage.

    Regards,

    Jimmy Deguara

  3. i don't live in Australia.. but i think the point of your question is has it ever a tornado happened in Australia..

so i've been searching some information and look what i've got:

-. The Bucca (Queensland) tornado, 29 November 1992. The only F4  tornado (fujita rating) so far officially reported in Australia. it happened in Bucca west of Bundaberg

    others are:

-. The afternoon of 2 February 1918 in Victoria about 4.50 pm, the so-called "Brighton cyclone" struck: apparently two separate tornadoes, followed about five minutes later by a third, hit the bayside suburb with great destruction.

-. Early on 6 April 1960, a particularly violent tornado formed on a trough line ahead of a major cold front and swept through jarrah forest near Collie, cutting a path 32km long and 240 metres wide

-. A similar tornado in northwest Tasmania left a swathe of snapped trees in forest country near Smithton early on 22 November 1992.

-. On the afternoon of 4 November 1973, intense thunderstorms built up west of Brisbane.

-. Southern Queensland was one of  the site of perhaps Australia’s deadliest tornado, with three people killed at Kin Kin (a small community between Gympie and Noosa) on 14 August 1971.

@ banks.. blame my references then.. and blame your government Bureau of Meteorology to.. they said so.. i just give the information..

  4. Cyclone Tracy hit Darwin in 1976. They get the odd cyclone off the north coast of Australia. I think the person above is confusing bad weather with cyclones!!!!! I live in Sydney so we don't get cyclones but with global warming........who knows?

  5. No. Australians are usually too drunk to notice something like that. And they're usually not in Australia.
