Ok, so me and my dad were talking with the petco guy in the fish area about setting up a saltwater tank...

well he was telling us about the process...:

40 gallon tank

1. put in saltwater and make sure its the right salinity. and then put in the bio sand.

2. wait 2 weeks and then bring in a sample of the water and get it tested, if it is great then ...

3. wait another week. then after they test the water again and its good put in live rock

4. the next day put in neon gobies and some other kind of goby to clean the tank and put in other fish that you want.

is this an ok way to do a saltwater tank?

  1. it didn't for me so i went to Dr's Foster and Smith

  2. I wouldn't trust petco or pet smart to wipe my dogs butt

if you go to this site www.drsfostersmith.com

click on the artical tab you will find info on setting up a saltwater tank

also go to your public libary and get some books on it then use all the info you find out as a refrence since some will tell you things that you may not have to do never trust one source exspecialy when that source is also trying to make money off of you in the process

  3. first ask yourself this

has anyone ever listened to petco about ANYTHING, and been succesful?

    I'd go with petmart

ps. if you are in the Florrissant area, go to the petsmart that's by Barns&Noble, OfficeMax, the HOmeDepot, and all that

They have puppies and such on every saturday exept for the first of the month

  4. sounds right but waiting a week that's to safe you could get buy with 5 days
