Some of these Laws are quite funny and a bit odd.

So thought I would share the website for those interested as to what wacky laws are in their state.

After reading them, are there some as wacky as there are wacky lawsuits? Or do you think they were created because of wacky lawsuits?

  1. .   Yes.  I think there is still a state law about the placement of spittoons in bars in my state.

  2. Don't take these too seriously. A lot of them are obsolete and are no longer the law, and a lot are not 'really' what the law says. A lot are also just interpretations of poorly written laws.

For example, one of the laws quoted for CA says that it's illegal to set a mousetrap without a hunting license. Well, there is - of course - no law that says that. What the law does say is that you need a hunting license to go hunting, whether by means of gun, bow, or traps.

The law on hunting animals by use of traps does not "specifically" say that mousetraps are not covered, so one 'could' try to make the argument that they are covered - but no-one has ever been - or will ever be - cited. Even if they were, I doubt you could find a judge anywhere in the world that would agree that setting a mousetrap is "hunting" anyway.

  3. I don't know much about funny laws, But someone once told me that if you steal a horse in Texas you can still get hung, but if you steal a car you only go to jail. And in this day and age I found that pretty funny. Bless you.

  4. Yeah, like it is against the law to run your cattle through particular street

  5. Yes they are pretty wacky.

    I looked up California:

-Community leaders passed an ordinance that makes it illegal for anyone to try to stop a child from playfully jumping over puddles of water.

When it rains here in California, I too am jumping!

  6. Believe it or not but in most, if not all states the following is illegal.

Living in abandoned houses no one is using

    Sleeping on the sidewalk

    Hanging around outside (loitering)

    Skateboarding

    Smoking or growing Marijuana

People under 18 to go outside after a certain time

    Feeding Homeless people

Walking across the street where there is no crosswalk

    Asking for spare change

Having sexual intercourse with the same s*x

    Marrying the same s*x

    Fishing without a permit

    Hitchhiking
