Question:

Has anyone lost a lot of weight...how?

I really want to loose weight and really need to. I am just not sure how I will soon be 20 I am 5'3 and over 300lbs I really want to get healthy...someone please help!!!

  1. Im really sorry about your weight. Im 14, 5'4 and I weigh 110.....Really thats only b/c of anorexia. I DO NOT reccomend anorexia as an option to lose weight in fact please do not use that as an option it is the worst thing to get get into.

    What you need to do is get into a healthy diet, Stop eating junk food (Chips, cookies,soda, pizza, Candy etc.) Work out a bit, do some crunches, pushups, go for a walk every day for about an hour.

    My dad weighed 300 and lost about 50 lbs in 3 months by just not drinking soda and drinking lots of water.


  2. Stop eating crisps, stop eating chocolate, and replace it with fruit instead.

    Don't eat after 6pm and cut down on the amount of bread you eat.

    Drink lots of water and combine it all with a bit of exercise and some willpower and it'll drop off you!

    Why don't you take up walking?  

  3. If you weight 300 lbs, I would recommend trying one of the following.

    1)  Weight watchers:  It is $12 a week, no food to buy and you can eat regular food.  This works! The meetings are small, you dont have to stand up and say, Hi my name is ... and I am fat".  Everyone there is there for the same reason. No one is stick thin, usually there is about 10 people who become good friends. look up where you nearest location is and try it...

    2) See a weight loss Doctor or clinic. I am not talking surgery but one like Lindora (that is the only national one i know) but here in Los Angeles there are many local clinics.  They treat your weight, other symptoms like diabetes and start you on a diet with medication for short term to kick start you weight loss. Medications like Bontril, Adipex or Xenical

    3) Of course you can talk to your own Doctor who ca prescribe these to you as well

    Due to your current weight, i would not take someone on here's advice as to eat this, eat that exercise this way. Chances are your body has needs and needs change.

  4. I've lost 40 lbs so far. I did it by drinking nothing but water and eating mostly vegtables. I don't eat much dairy and maybe some meat just a few times a week. I also work full time at a physically demanding job and walk 3 miles everyday (5 on my days off work).

    If you drink alot of soda or sweetened tea, try switching to water or at least diet soda with no calories. You could see a difference before long. Most people don't realize how many calories you can get throughout the day from sugary drinks. Even fruit juice can be loaded.

  6. You need to focus on getting healthier and makiing life style changes you can live with for the rest of your life.  Here are a few ideas.

    Keeping a food journal really does help.  It will give you a much better sense of how much you are eating, and when, and why.

    Make a few small changes - walk everywhere, always use stairs instead of elevators, walk on escalators, get up and move around at least once an hour if your work or your life in general is sedentary, walk every day, use a pedometer. Walking 10,000 steps a day is a really good idea. Build up to a long brisk walk everyday, or most days.  Be more active and watch less TV and spend less time on the computer.

    Start a weight lifting routine. It will help increase your metabolism and make you feel and look better in so many ways. Join a gym. Possibly you can find one that has someone who specializes in weight lifting programs for beginners. Weight lifting will increase your metabolism as well as improve posture and appearance overall.

    In terms of diet, cut out or reduce things like junk food, pop, fat, fast food. Eat more fruits, vegetables, whole grains, lean meat, fish.   Particularly if you choose a vegetarian lifestyle include natural peanut butter, hummus, dried fruit and nuts.  Pay close attention to getting the nutrients your body needs to be healthy.  Drink plenty of water, at least 8 big glasses a day, and more if it is very hot, it you sweat a lot, or if you are exercising intensely. You will begin to see changes in your body.

  8. never take diet pills always have confidence and try these tips, they WILL help and are the healthy way:

    eat lots of veggies and protein it will help you build muscle and look leaner

    drink a whole glass of water before eating, put your fork down between bites, and eat slowly; all of these things will help you get fuller faster

    NEVER NEVER NEVER drink diet sodas, it causes cellulite.. EEWWWWW!!!.. and slows down your metabolism , making it harder to exercise, lose weight and gain muscle

    lose weight with a friend

    drink milk

    drink lots of water and juice (100%)

    exercise alot!!!! but don't over exert yourself or it will destroy you

  9. I have lost 60 pounds since January..I have be eating lots of protein good carbs like fruits, vegetables whole grains and cut out all may cakes candy and cookies

  10. walking is great for losing weight.  Never drink pop or sweetened water.  Just straight water and take vitamins.   Before I go to bed I do a shot of apple cider vinegar.  This increases your metabolism and helps drop some calories.   But I think you need extreme weight loss.  In which a doctor can prescribe an appetite suppressant pill !!!   My sister lost 50lbs taking Adipex
