Has anyone made a terrarium ie: grass setup for a tortoise that doesn't need changing for an indoor enclosure

  1. Most tortoises actually are not well-off on grass. Most tortoises do better on a mixture of sand and soilless mix like Bed-A-Beast (compressed coconut coir). Once the soilless mix is established, you can even introduce worms into it to help breakdown wastes, etc.

    Even so, it would be best to toss it all out when it goes 'sour'. Even most zoos, in their nice indoor planted habitats, have to dig it all out and start over periodically.


  2. That would kind of be impossible, seeing how the waste would build up.
