  1. Yes, I used to work for a couple of agencies in Birmingham. Both were very good and looked out for me in the places of employment. But I did work for one agency (which has closed) who put me into an establishment without the appropriate training, putting me in danger. They hadn't provided me with the appropriate Break Away training, which I have now had.

But Recruitment Consultancy is all about reaching targets.

  2. I am sure they would say they reflect the clientele they represent.

I can't agree on the rude bit as most of those I have met have been polite, but they are under pressure to get results as 'no sale' no pay or very little. That tends to make people push very hard to get a result. Only those who make it to top get loads of money and that is because recruitment is one of many legitimised pyramid selling structures. Insurance is another. The bosses get a little bit of everybody elses's success which adds up to more than the rewards than those who produce the results.

  3. Thing is, if employers were any good at recruiting they wouldnt need agencies.

So they pay stupid prices to fill vacancies.

Oh by the way, recruitment consultants are professional sales people first and foremost, they don't sell, they don't earn, so there motivation is target driven , not necessarily the best recruitment scenario methinks

  4. Different angle to the question has any one found anyone nice who works in a job-centre

  5. erm no i went to a few and they failed to impress me to be honest
