Just wondering if there are anyone else out there that has a Happily ever after story they would like to share...

I met my husband while working on the program. We were neighbors at vista way. We started dating there and eventually moved to the same town after the program. We even had a disney wedding with fairies and everything. :O) We been happily married for two years...and we have been together for seven.

  1. That is so cute!  I did the program too!  OH, the Vista Way days! I did date a few guys while I was there but none lasted.  Congratulations on your fairy tale!

BTW...what year were you there and where did you work?

**I was there Jan-May '99 and worked at ODF at the Magic Kingdom...loved it!

I am still BFF with one of my roommates.  We moved back down there the following year also.  That lasted about a year and a half, then we each headed back home.

I met some of my best friends there and still keep in touch with 4 ppl I met down there, and this is 9 years later!

I recommend the program to anyone thinking about it.

  2. didn't find love, but one of the girls that i made friends with wants me to write ads for her, which is a really nice things to do for someone.

I started out at vista way, but moved to chatam, and was kind of upset that vista was so crappy and chatam was soo nice.

I worked in food service at Magic Kingdom (stands west) and met a really nice guy, but was dating the man I'm about the marry and the guy left about 3 weeks into the program. (oh i was room mates with the guys girlfriend so, it wasn't like i was checking him out or anything.) the only regret i have is that i didn't get to go to DAK more than once, and the really cute English Guy from the international program saw me trip and fall down the stairs at Epcot.

  3. Wow I hated that program.  I was in Chatham.  I lost 10 lbs b/c I couldn't afford food.  The percentage that actually finished the whole program was extremely small.  We had people leaving every week.  We very rarely had an opportunity to meet others not in our "division".  For example, I was DAK and I never met people who worked anywhere else.  The food people worked way too many hours a week and as Disney didn't follow OSHA rules, they were always injured.

I was there a very bad semester though.  A lot of people had roommates that were arrested.  I had to call 911 on mine several times.  I met people afterwards from previous semesters and they were like WOW it was so different when I was there.  There was only one person there from my area of the country.

I met 2 decent guys who both left randomly one weekend never to return.  And only one friend I think I may keep up with for life.  I warn people away from that program.  They don't keep any of the promises about being an internship.  I vowed never to go back until I have a child old enough to ask me to go.

I'm so excited that you had a good result from yours.  I was there in spring 01 and heard that they had changed the program a lot from the previous years.  Email me--I'd love to hear your story.  Where did you work?  How did you meet?  How old were you when you were there?  Was it your last semester in college?

I'd love to see some pictures of your wedding.  It sounds beautiful.  I wish I'd never gone on that internship b/c it destroyed my positive feelings about Disney.  I think meeting your true love on that program is one of the most romantic stories I've heard.
