All the (British) athletes at the olympics tend to be middle class(socially) or higher(apart from the boxing).

If your not British, then is this the same with your country's athletes ?

  1. hey dude! class lies in how do you play in actual. (at least in sports)

  2. Anyone can be an athlete of some sort,it just means that instead of hanging around and drinking or imbibing other substances and being one of the gang to get "respect"( that's a laugh in itself), you spend your time training and getting real respect.

  3. Yeah, most of the USA athletes seem to be normal (besides being super athletes) upper-middle class people. Don't forget we have Phelps :)

  4. It's only the middle class or higher that can afford all the practices drives to the various meets and tournaments plus the necessary gear.

  5. thats because theyre middle class sports

    apart from boxing

the karen matthews of this world tend not to have the means to do sailing or dressage

  6. In America their all immigrants the athletes.Very Annoying.American kids rarely ever even notcied(especially if the not upper middle class).Immigrants however are seemingly always looked at.You hear alot of the athletes saying "i didn't even know what the  olymipics were".

  7. This is probably because the government still offer financial help the type of sports that are played/enjoyed by the middle class. Therefore good facilities, which produces good sportsmen/women. The lower class sports are ignored and therefore we dont do well in them.

  8. I'm british and i was thinking the same thing. does Britain actually win anything?

we don't have much luck really!

but hey at least we get the chance to participate!

maybe were do better in 2012 when the olympics is held in britain.
