are slowly being replaced by courses that seem to focus on scientific debate and getting the student to engage in debate, thinking about the subject matter in political and social terms, rather than teaching scientific fact?

I am struggling to find courses that are going to teach me science, not try to get me to argue about it.

  1. Hmmm, I have to disagree. They seem to be adding to their life/earth sciences as that's the growing work sector.

  2. It's happening in primary and secondary education, but I hadn't heard of it at the university level.  And we wonder about the cause of scientific illiteracy.

  3. The science courses have always had a certain amount of discussion around topical scientific items - but they usually contain more science facts than just discussion.
