  1. Well, the only line doing 4 day out of Mobile is Carnival, on the Holiday.

I don't know that there's any such thing as a "bad" cruise, and they're not that expensive, but I wouldn't recommend this one unless you have a strong preference to sail out of Mobile (rather than go to Miami, Galvaston, New Orleans, etc), or you really like smaller, "classic" ships.

Thing is, it's really old.  Built in 1985, which is ancient by cruise line standards. It's in good shape, but it's small and doesn't have that many "bells and whistles" of the newer ships (no balconies, for one thing).

Also, in general you can get similarly priced cruises on nicer ships if you go to a more popular port (where the cruise lines have more competition).

You might want to check out this article on how to choose the right cruise (including port and a ship) based on what matters to you:

  2. As mentioned,  the only ship currently in Mobile is the Holiday.  It's an ok ship and you should have a fun time on it but it is a bit dated.  I would suggest going to New Orleans and taking a Fantasy class ship which, while still  older is a decent upgrade from the Holiday.  Don't the replies here scare you off though,  the Holiday is still a decent ship and you should have a great time.  It's a good value for your money.
