i am soooo against spending thousands on a dress!

on ebay they have "copies" made in china u win the auction send them your measurements and a lil chinese lady makes the dress for you...usually about $200 with the majority of that being postage costs!

feedback seems good....

even if it comes and its not perfect u could have it altered and itd still work out cheap!

  1. no I wouldn't it is being made by slave labor in a communist country

    Buy american

  2. Yes I did and I tried my best to be happy with it, took it and got alterations done and it still looked horrible. I broke down and bought a dress at Davids Bridals the week before my wedding because I could not make it work. It is hard to know if you will be happy without seeing it on your body, I thought the white dresses with red in it was beautiful on-line, but I seen a poor girl in one at Davids Bridals and she looked like Madonna from a 80s video.

  3. You can ask around to your friends and family if they know of any seamstresses that want to make some money on the side. I had my gown custom made for me a woman that came from Puerto Rico and made her living here by sewing clothes. It only cost me $500 and every part of it was to my specifications. That way you get the best of both, what you want, inexpensive, and nearby for proper fittings.

  4. Yep I am getting one next month for my wedding in June, I too have checked feedback but I am going with one that charges very little postage and more for the dress instead of the other way around as if you send it back you will pay postage for very little refund on the dress.

Good luck, which one have you chosen can you paste it ?

I AM USING -  landybridal asapbay  their sellers ID is asapbay1515 - I will give you the link to one of their dresses and you can move on from there if you type in this number 360082248451 this dress is gorgeous !!!!!

  5. Instead of spending money on a dress you'll only wear once, buy a really nice dress you'll wear for special occasions. Wear it to weddings, Christenings,  birthdays any big occasion. You can still save it forever. It'll just have more memories.

    My two cents.

  6. Would you feel like you'd got a bargin or would you feel a bit cheap. I know someone who has bought a dress and it was fine it was small fitting so needed altering but still was much cheaper than anything you could get similar over in the UK.

  7. Hello!

I think it's a great idea if you can truly find a bargain! Just remember, if they are shipping to you they are going to try and ship it the cheapest way for them... still charging you crazy amounts of money! A friend of mine had her dress shipped from someone on e-bay and it came vacuum sealed in a box the size of maybe 2 shoe boxes put together! WRINKLED AS COULD BE Unfortunately, She spent just as much getting the dress steamed professionally as she would have just going into a bridal store and buying it there! Plus, it was a little tight because she had ordered it so far in advance... that was her fault for not minding her weight though :)! Anyways, ebay is a great thing, but if you don't mind shopping around a little in stores you could find a bargain there as well! Just in case...Jc Penney's has a great outlet store if you can find one! David's Bridal usually does a $99 sale ALL THE TIME! Plus occasionally some of the bridal boutiques are looking to get new inventory and get rid of their "older" ones!

Hope you find your perfect dress!!

    Good Luck!!

  8. The problem with ordering from China is, often the gown doesn't look like the photo, and returns and exchanges can be difficult and take a LONG time. I got my gown on eBay after seeing the same one being offered by the same company for $100 less than on the site I first spotted it on. The company's out of New York, but I believe that they do sell some Chinese copies. Mine was apparently a discontinued PC Mary's gown. They sent me the wrong size twice, but when I got the right one it was magic. This is it, on the site that I originally found it on;

    http://www.preownedweddingdresses.com/dr...

It doesn't look all ivory like this one, some of the fabric is shot with gold, but all three gowns were identical to each other and cost about $55 to ship(they do business out of New York). It's a lace-up corset gown, so no alterations required!
