Question:

Has anyone ordered wedding flowers online?

There are a bunch of TheKnot.com recommended websites that ship the flowers to your home straight from the grower, eliminating unnecessary transport (good for the environment) and cost. Many of them come with instructions on how to arrange them yourself, or you can even order ready-made centerpieces.

Have you done this, and what was your impression? Was it worth the savings, and how hard is it to do?

  1. I will be ordering from www.50flowers.com.  They are cheap and premade and delivered right to my door....what coud be better than saving hundreds of dollars on just flowers

  2. As a wedding coordinator, I've ordered flowers from www.flowerfarmstogo.com & made my own bouquets and boutionneirs.  The flowers were fresh, beautiful & inexpensive.  More importantly, the bride loved them!!!  The process was extremely easy, and I would definitely do it again for a wedding with a tight budget!

  3. I order from florabundance to do weddings (I do event flowers on the side) and it is WONDERFUL.  I have also heard great things about growersbox.com.  The flowers are amazingly fresh, I worked for a florist for a number of years and most of what I get is better quality than she ussually got.  The only thing is time.....making bouquets isn't really hard, but its TIME CONSUMING.  sure you can throw them together, but it won't look good and if its not done right you may end up carrying dead flowers.  Really consider whether you can fully devote 2 days before the wedding and most of your wedding day to putting it all together.....even though I am fully capable of arranging flowers I still got someone else to do mine because their were just not going to be enough hours in the day to get it all done.  If you can get a friend who's pretty crafty to handle it then go for it!

  4. If anyone uses fiftyflowers.com ...  please let me know how the flowers turned out!  I am planning to use this company but I haven't really heard much about them.

    Thanks!

  5. I've ordered from www.proflowers.com. I just bought a arrangement of flowers, but they were beautiful! Just make sure the site you use is a good source (meaning you've heard of them).

    good luck

  6. I've used Grower's Box for 3 weddings and various other types of parties. Their flowers are always fresh and abundant and their customer service rocks. They sell a "Wedding in a Box" kit to help you figure out what you will need too, which is nice logistically. You can always get some books to help you do the actual arrangements and to get ideas from. It's a lot of work but it is not hard, just time consuming.

    Good luck!

  7. Yes, I have ordered from www.rosesource.com

Yes, they sell other flowers other than roses.  I can vouch for this company's on time delivery and customer support.

It IS a lot of work, and flowers for a wedding should be done up the day before (or 2 days max!), so it is stressful doing this the day before.  Then....where to store them!  But it is a savings, and, yes, these places are reputable.  Just make sure you go with a good one.  Again, I can vouch for this company.  My testamonial is still on their site under Gail B.
