  1. I played this piece awhile back, but I used it again last year for my college auditions. My suggestion for the fast bits; get a metronome, put it on 66-72 bpm (or slower) and practice it. Once you can play it ABSOLUTELY perfect at a slow tempo, push the tempo up about 6-10 bpm, then once that is perfect, push it up more, and continue that until you have reached your optimum tempo.

--- Now, I know that it can get very boring practicing so slowly, so occasionally, while your are at a slower tempo, just try to play it at the tempo you are striving for. This will give you a gauge on your progress that you can see very quickly.

My last suggestion is to practice it in different rhythms, slurred bowing, staccato bowing, spicatto bowing, etc. This will get you even more used to hearing the melody and it will help your fingers remember it too. ---Remember, playing is muscle memory--

Hope this is helpful, let me know if you need any other suggestions.

    Have fun
