Has anyone prescribed with Adderall thought that they had a heart-attack?

I'm wondering if anyone on here who is taking Adderall ever felt like that they were undergoing a heart attack? And, did you go see the doctor that very day about it?

If so, I'm wondering how much you took that and what are you normally prescribed.

Did your incident turn out to be a real heart-attack or was it a "false alarm"?

  1. I take Adderall XR 20 mg and when I first started taking it a year ago, I thought it was causing heart problems. My chest felt tight and there was a dull pain whenever I inhaled. I informed my psychiatrist and she sent me to have an EKG done right while I was having the chest pains. They did the EKG and it came back normal for the most part, except they said I was having premature atrial contractions, which are benign but can be caused by stimulants, so that explained that. A couple weeks after taking the Adderall regularly, the premature atrial contractions were gone, and I rarely ever feel that chest pain nowadays. I still sometimes feel my heart racing, but it goes away after an hour or so.

  2. I was on it before and it used to make my heart race all the time. It felt like this huge pressure on my chest. My doctor said it was normal and should go away in a few weeks although honestly, if something does that to me I don't have any desire to keep taking it. It's just not healthy.
