I read both for school and now I need to write a 3-4 page essay indentifying a common aspect in both books and discussing and analyzing its treatment in each particularly in regards to the writer's purpose. I've been told to avoid summary and focus on analyzing the topics in relation to the writers purpose and meaning of their work. This is for AP English 11.
I've finished both books and I've decided that neither book is right. Freakanomics is on the far end on one side of the spectrum and freedomnomics is on the complete other side. I think the free market works, however, it doesn't mean everyone and everything is honest and fair. But, just because this is true doesn't mean the free market doesn't work and large amounts of government intervention is necessary. I'm not really sure if the essay guidelines are asking for a kind of analysis (although much deeper) than what I have started with. Do you think I'm on the right track.
