Has anyone read Twilight and thought it was a bad book?

YO YO YO YO!! Here! ME!

Okay enough. Yeah Me. I read that... thing... and i think and thought it is and was a very bad book. Falt, boring, purple prose, no research in vampire culture, and I mean real vampires no Tinkerbell with bloodlust, character development, I mean come on... Bella is clumsy and Edward is hot... so what?... I mean, what about their personalities?... The main characters were Garu Stu and Mary Sue, the romance sucked. They didn't "falling" in love, it was just... "Oh I'm a vampire you smell good and I love you but I'm dangerous!" (OH DRAMA!) and "Oh You are like OMG!!1SOHAWT!!1 ILUVU!!!1" but nothing more, the relationship was unhealthy, really... Bella is like satellite and Edward the planet... She has no dreams or hobbies, just Edward... and... THE VAMPIRES DON'T SPARKLE!!... Yeah I didn't like those books...

But what I hate the most about Twilight is not actually the book itself, is the fandom... I mean the sane fans are really cool, like "Oh yeah I like the book, you don't it's fine, we can disagree :)" but then are the fangirls... like "OMG!!1URLEIKCRAZY&WRONG!!!1 ITS THE BEST BOOK EVAR!!1 EDWARD'S HAWT!!1"....

I thought the idea was so-so -- not particularly creative, but still enticing nonetheless.  I actually liked the first book somewhat, but eventually, I found the writing style to be mediocre, and the characters especially bothered me.

I found them all to be flat, cliched and unrealistic, particularly Bella.  She felt, to me, like a whiny, immature teenager constantly changing her mind about everything, following every whim.

She seemed vain and shallow to me, judging people on appearances and constantly mistreating her friends and family.

I disliked the series because of her.

I read it and I did not particularly like or enjoy reading it. It was more like a chore, mostly because my friends made me read it.

I found Stephenie Meyer's writing to be mediocre at best. I was stunned that people got so into it. I guess that shows you how far we have fallen...

I never read twilight but my friend says that the new books are BAD.

I did like it, and I take it as what it is - to me, it isn't this huge OMG SERIOUS BOOK, it's a lighter read meant for teenagers. And to me it's good as that.

But the last book was pretty dang bad. A little too out there for me!
