Has anyone read or heard of the book "The Heart's Code"?

I just heard about it on Montel. I got in on the end of it...but the show was about organ transplants and the experiences the recipients have had. Hmmm.. In this book..the writer says that about 5 years after the transplants..some recipients begin to experience habits & tastes & desires that the donor had. They don't know these things were the same as the donors until they talk to the families and friends of the donors. (I think we recently mentioned something about transplants on here just lately) I think this would make interesting reading..even for the skeptics...especially those on here who are future donors...and /or recipients. What do YOU think about this?(Even if we've touched on this already..maybe there will be answers from people who missed it last time.)

  1. I'm going to surprise you here Denie.  I'm skeptical of those sorts of claims.  :-)  I mean, how can a relatively small group of foreign cells overrule the much larger number of cells surrounding it?  This doesn't even take into consideration the years of socialization and habit you have personally developed.

After poisoning the public with that wench Sylvia Browne for years, Montel has zero credibility in my book.  Thankfully he won't be around much longer.

  2. Well we all heard about the Kidney patient whose blood group changed after a transplant ! WOW!   We do all have codes in our  body, thats what makes all different in DNA make-up. Makes sense to me.

  3. I haven't read the book, but I'm intimately familiar with the concept.  The underlying issues and reasons go a lot deeper than those a person might discover the hard way involving transplants.

  4. I read a biography about 5 years ago from a woman who had an organ transplant. She was a conservative Christian who was amazed when her first conscious waking thought after her surgery was "I sure could use a cold beer." Turned out her donor was a biker guy who had crashed.

I don't think it takes any five years for this to happen at all. And those who aren't convinced that it does happen aren't doing their research.

No, I haven't read that particular book, but I already feel I've been sufficiently warned.
