I just finished this book, it made me cry. My grandmother used to tell me about these "Indian reform schools", but I had no idea it was THAT bad; starvation, sexual assault, forced labor (slavery), torture, disease...it talks about one 9 year old boy having his hands nailed to the table for not eating his rancid beans. This all happed to as late as 1980!!

Not many people know of the plight of the Native Americans after we were forced in to concentration camps (reservations).

Have you read this book, and how did it effect you?

  1. I have not read the book, but I have heard of the Indian reform schools. The worst I heard was when children were ridiculed by their peers for following their traditional cultures. If I can get my hands on it, I will certainly check it out.

  2. more propaganda for the moaners and groaners. this wont get you any free money.

  3. Actually I know about this. I learned about this when I was young because my mom is very supportive of the Natives. I also read about this in my textbook so I'm pretty sure plenty of people know. Believe it or not things like this used to happen all the time until the 90s to most nonwhites(natives, blacks, etc)

Look at the guy below me trying to call this "whining". And some white people wonder why non-whites hate them

  4. Rockfish sounds like your basic "compassionate" conservative.
