The Duke of Edinburgh is well-known for his many non-diplomatic gaffes;he shouldn't make off-the-cuff "witty" statements if they cause offense.Sometimes Prince Philip thinks he's making a witty statement,but he just ends up putting his foot in his mouth;and it's quite possible that he really doesn't mean what he says,but still...thinking before one speaks is a good idea.
