  1. It think it was written by people who want to get in and get their Guat babies before ethical adoption is enforced in Guatemala.  That way they won't be bothered with that inconvenient "birthmama drama".

  2. I think it sounds very good, addressing many of the issues of international adoption as a whole, while also looking at issues specific to Guatamala.

  3. My opinion is that I'm grateful that online petitions hold no weight with anyone involved in making decisions.

Source: Online petitions are a waste of time and effort.

  4. I just read it for the first time and I had not seen it before ever, thank you for sharing it.

    I feel conflicted with it.

It seems as if the intentions for the future of the children in Guatemala are being thought of, but at the same time, i felt a sense of bias based on the idea that the solution for the children NOW is adoption.

I agree that a social welfare system certainly cannot happen overnight. I also agree that is is a sticky situation.

ETA: No, I do not believe that the solution now is adoption.

  5. I think it is great! Guatemala is a very poor country and the more children adopted out of that poverty the better! I'm not even sure why those people down there are breeding when they can't support their children. We are talking about mothers that leave small children all alone all day because they have to work and have no child care.

Guatemala should limit how many children a family or woman has and then there wouldn't be such an overabundance of adoptable children from there.

  6. I think it's a very pretty way of saying "Ethics-schmethics, I want me a Guatling right now!"

  7. It's modern-day Colonialism.

We'll help these natives with their problems RIGHT after we help ourselves to their MOST valuable resource, their children.  Because we know BEST.
