Has anyone recently had a sewage system put into their neighborhood?

We currently have septic, and a sewage system will be put in place within the next year. We are required to pay a $3900 tap in fee up front, in addition to what it will cost to have a professional plumber dig the line from our house to tap in. Has anyone else gone through this recently, and how much did you pay to have your line dug?

We had a new septic system done last year if that counts...

The whole bill was 5,000 dollars and it took a few weeks
