Has anyone recently stayed at the Royal in Cancun?

Has the beach been washed away or does it still look like it does in all the photos on their web site?

YES!!! You will love it. Don't stay anywhere else. When you get to the Royal it will far exceed your expectations. The rooms look just like on their website. Very CLean, While I was there in Nov. there was a worker scrubbing the wicker couches. unbelievable place! Getting a chair by the pool was the only kindof bad thing. I wouldn't even say bad. You have to get up early if you want to be right by the pool, but they will still come down to the beach to give you drinks. We still found some chairs by the pool of your lucky. The beach is washed away I guess, but i had nothing to compare it to since it was my first time there. Still pleanty of beach to enjoy.

Even better than the pics on website. I can't wait to go back!!

I was there in early november and am going back in March. It's an amazing hotel. Of course with all the traffic going through there some ppl weren't impressed with service, but I had no problems at all. The beach wasn't too bad. Not alot of sand and you couldn't do alot of swimming, but the pools totally made up for it. It's pretty central with all the other hotels and great if you want to head out for night life. I found i spent alot of time in the actual hotel because it was so comfortable. But yep, pretty much just like the website.

Which Royal?

If you are speaking about the Royal Sands the beach is coming back...Mother Nature has a way of removing sand and returning it right before your eyes.

The Royal Group has a total of 5-membership resorts in Cancun. Club International, Royal Sands, Islander, Mayan, Caribbean. All 5-star with great service and a 95% approval rating.

Then there is the Royal Solaris not part of the "Royal" group

nice place. Friends have stayed there and had a good time.

Grand Royal Lagoon...have heard mixed reviews. Park Royal...?

My husband and I are going in April and I was wondering this too.  I've literally read all 380-something reviews on The Royal in Cancun on Tripadvisor.com and looked at all the traveler posted pictures.  If you haven't looked at trip advisor yet, check it out.  I still say with the small beach, it's gorgeous and we can't wait to go!

No, but if your looking to party and see a variety of people, stay at the oasis cancun, not sure which side is phase 1 or phase 2 but the left side of the hotel is PARTY PLACE, their food is AMAZING and their pools and rooms are great, and soo is the staff which is important too
