Has anyone recently transferred flights at Dubai airport in the UAE? If yes, how easy was it?

Yeah have transferred from south africa to england through dubai....its real easy....smallish airport....lots of people sleepin on the floor.....very very very hot.  Transferred through at 1am in the morning and it was 41 deg celcius!!  Anywho, everything is pretty well sign boarded but they tend to wait til i think 40 mins before your flight to put up the boarding gate so just keep your eyes open.  Nice relaxing airport too, they have meditation and smoking rooms with really comfy seats.  :)  i flew emirates and it was a dream! lovely flight and easy transfer! :D

It is very crowded, even at 3 AM.  It is laid out well with good facilities for disabled folk and the duty free transit hall is huge!

It has 4 floors and is about a kilometre long. It is easy to transfer flights but is rather tiring. I hope this helps.

Flew Emirates last year - England to Oz (and back, of course).

The number of the connecting gate was announced on the plane before you land - listen out for it.

Most vivid memory is the length of the walk from one gate to the other; I would suggest that anyone who has a walking problem makes sure that they have a wheelchair ordered.

Seating while waiting for the gates to open, was very limited, particularly since 4 spaces were often utilised by guys in long white robes having a sleep.  They will not offer their seat to a woman however old and infirm she may appear to be - I was tempted to push a young man off a seat when a very elderly lady had to sit on the floor near us!.

Loo flushing was a little strange!

Aurora obviously has not been to Dubai airport for a long time....it's now huge and modern.A very nice airport, transfers are very easy.

I have transferred flights through Dubai a lot. The airport is one of the best I have been to, and lots of shopping. As for the terminals, just make sure that you are close to your gate. Everything is indoor and not confusing, but A LOT OF WALKING. You can use the automated moving floors/escalators if you wish. Overall, you will enjoy it.

It was WONDERFULLY easy for me. All you have to do is find your gate and that's pretty easy too since all the gates are down one huge line.
