am having trouble getting a answer from centrelink on when this payment is going to be paid or if it is going to be paid.

Have you contacted your local Federal Member of Parliament regarding this issue?

Someone there will almost certainly be able to help you - they usually have contacts in higher places (unlike Centrelink, as there are so many newbies who unfortunately don't know about what Centrelink provides) - as to when it might be payable.

My mother recently received her pensioner assistance bonus(?) - about three days before the end of June (hanging off as long as possible[?]). I would have thought that the same, or similar would have applied.

In another context, I searched for those exact words and found relative material in the FaHCSIA (Department of Families, Housing, Community Services and Indigenous Affairs) website. I have provided the link below, so that you might see whether it is relative to you. The unfortunate thing about the website is that it was last updated on March 28, 2008. It does provide the intent though.
