Has anyone rented a car in Sardinia?

Just curious if you found navigating hard. How is parking and traffic in general? I'm planning on visiting and am trying to decide whether to rely on public transport or just rent a car. Any stories or accounts welcome!

I have used a few others and have had mixed experiences. Sardinia is one of my favourite places in Italy to drive. It always seems far less congested than northern Italy and it is the ONLY way to really explore the interior of the island properly.
