Has anyone saved the cord blood?

And how much did it cost around? Did you end up using it? Was it worth it?

same here. its too expensive, but i know it could still be used for someone else in need, so next month when i give birth, I'm planning on donating my childs cord blood

We considered it, until we found out how ungodly expensive it was going to cost.  (Dont remember how much, but it was A LOT)  Its a shame you have to pay to bank something that belongs to you to begin with.  Google Viacord.

I didnt store it or saved it. I Donated it for children with cancer. Check with your hospital were you are going to deliver to see if they offer that program. If later on in life your baby needs some blood since you donated you are able to request your blood and if it has already been used they will find another match.

We considered it too then found out it was 1-2 grand and every year you have to pay like $100 a year or worse to store it.  We just can't afford it.  I'm sure it could be of use if your child needs it for whatever reason but when you can't afford it...you can't afford it
