Question:

Has anyone seen 2 complete semi circle rainbows next to each other? My friend saw this yesterday.

It is possible.Normally,within the rain drops(which act as prism and split the sunlight into its constituent colours) two refractions and ONE reflection take place to produce one rainbow.In some cases,two refractions and TWO(instead of one) reflections take place.In such a condition,two rainbows will be produced.One is called primary rainbow and the other is called  secondary rainbow.

  3. That was a double rainbow.  The first one the brightest and the second dimmer.  Theortically there can be more rainbows but the third one on is too dim to be seen.  

  4. One time I was riding through the mountains leaving Seattle, and I was up on the side of a mountain looking down and saw about twenty rainbows at once. I saw a couple all the way to the end of the rainbow. Absolutely beautiful.
