Has anyone seen Fight Club?help!?

ok, so i just saw the movie the other day, d**n good movie! but i got confused at the part where he shoots himself and says "My eyes are open"

sooooo

what does that mean? i mean he ends up living and all, but why.............

btw, what was really wrong with him? was it just split personality disorder or something more than that?

multiple personality disorder. he was really shooting the other guy, and yeah i loved that love to!

It would appear that it was a split personality with the Tyler Durden persona wanting him to WAKE UP and open his eyes to the meaninglessness to ordinary "civilized" life. After he shoots himself and lives he realizes there is more to life than what he had previously lived, therefore "My eyes are open!"

He had a multiple personality disorder. He was Tyler Durden, and by shooting himself he shot Tyler.

Split Personality...you nailed it.....when he says my eyes are open he has just found out that he is a schizophrenic.

Self realization of his place in the world, what that world really is ....and what/who he is, and is capable of.

Seeing the true nature of the world. He was hiding within his splt personality - much as we all hide from reality in the day to day -ness of our lives. But once he killed the divide (tyler) he saw the whole picture - he stopped hiding and accepted.
